What are your Code of Conduct and billing policies?

This is our community contract — the shared agreement that keeps Offline the kind of space everyone actually wants to be part of. It covers how we show up with each other, our partner restaurants, and our team.

Every member agrees to this Code before joining, and we hold everyone (including ourselves) to it.

TL;DR

Offline works because we treat people — and restaurants — like people.

Be kind. Tip well. Speak with respect. Support local.

That’s the deal when you’re part of the club.

BACKSTORY

Offline isn’t a subscription that shows up at your door — it’s one that gets you out the door.

We’re a community of locals who love great food, real conversations, and supporting the restaurants that make our cities worth living in.

Because so many of those interactions happen face-to-face, what makes this work isn’t the app — it’s the people using it.

That’s why every member agrees to a shared standard for how we treat each other.

I AGREE TO BE RESPECTFUL

To other members. To restaurant staff. To business owners. To our team.

Offline runs on mutual respect — online and IRL. You can absolutely share honest feedback (we want you to), but there’s a line between critical and cruel.

That means:

  • No personal attacks, profanity, or name-calling.

  • No hateful, threatening, or degrading language toward anyone — including partner staff.

  • No venting at the expense of people doing their jobs.

If something goes wrong, tell us! We’ll handle it directly with the restaurant. But publicly disrespecting a partner or employee — especially through aggressive or profane language — violates our community standards.

We’ll always start with a conversation, but ongoing or extreme disrespect will result in removal from Offline.

Basically: be the kind of person you’d want to serve, sit next to, or have a drink with.

I AGREE TO SUPPORT OFFLINE PARTNERS

Offline Offers are meant to enhance your experience — not cover your whole bill.

The Offer amount is designed to be just a fraction of what you spend, not a free meal or drink.

We track every transaction to make sure that’s happening. We can see your total check, so if someone consistently only spends the bare minimum or uses Offline just to get free food, we notice.

That behavior directly hurts our restaurant partners — and when that happens, we remove those members.

We guarantee our partnerships are profitable for local restaurants, and that only works when members use the app the way it’s meant to be used: to discover great spots, not to game the system.

I AGREE TO SUPPORT RESTAURANT STAFF

When service is good, tip like it.

We expect members to tip on the pre-discounted bill — the same way you would if you were paying in full.

Tipping is how most restaurant workers make a living. It’s a small gesture that makes a big difference.

I AGREE TO GIVE (AND RECEIVE) FEEDBACK

Feedback is our love language.

You’ll get requests from us to rate Offers, share experiences, and tell us what’s working (and what’s not). That’s how we make Offline better.

We also ask our restaurant partners for feedback on members. Think of it like a two-way street — the same way Uber or Airbnb works.

Constructive feedback keeps the community healthy. Disrespectful feedback gets you removed.

If you ever have an issue, message our team directly — we’ll always listen, and we’ll always try to make it right.
